Disappointment for Nomads
Another case of “if only” for the Nomads as they lost 10.6 (66) to 12.13 (85) against the visiting Gunnedah Bulldogs.
The game was tight throughout. The Bulldogs held a narrow lead for most of the first half, before the Nomads hit the front in the third quarter. A flurry of goals put Gunnedah back in front by the end of the third quarter with a lead which saw them home.
After this result, and next week’s almost certain victory by the Inverell Saints over the Muswellbrook Cats, New England will again sit two games out of the final four. With only five regular season games remaining the club now needs to string together a run of wins. If they can achieve consistency in their selection there is no reason why they cannot do this. There have been definite improvements over the last two matches, and they have yet to field what would be their strongest squad.
