Undermanned and poorly motivated Nomads scrape by with a win out west
Perhaps it was the euphoria of the previous week’s win or a failure to take the Suns seriously, but whatever the reason the Nomads were lucky to win at Moree on the weekend. The Suns to their credit played good football and showed that when they have their full compliment, they are a force to be reckoned with. For the Nomads, Ethan Karpany, Drew Walsh, Hunter Greene and Daniel Boyd worked tirelessly all day while up forward Fraser Menzies was the sole forward to really create troubles for the Moree crew. Final scores were 12.15.87 to 9.6.60.
The game began with a number of big outs including Noah Connick (COVID), David Richards, Sheridan Cooper, Teddy Tedmanson and Jake Bouchier. One right light was the arrival of Harry Dobson from WA who has taken a job in Armidale.
Unfortunately we don’t have quarter by quqrter scores and perhaps that is a blessing in disguise since the less said about the game in terms of the attitude of the Nomads team a a whole the better. The Moree team has a lot of good footballers and this was a very different side to the one they played a month or so ago.
