A great team effort by the Nomads resulted in a convincing win of 19-19 (133) to 10-8 (68). With all players showing a willingness to put their bodies on the line, the Nomads proved too strong for the Tamworth side.

Jeb Ellis-Cluff was outstanding at centre-half forward, proving too skilful for the Roo’s back line players. Ably led by Zac Economou, the Nomad’s back line restricted opportunities for the Roos to score. Benji Julien’s excellent anticipation meant our forward line was receiving quality ball. Dan Davies and Charlie Bender were strong and consistent throughout the match.

The on line contingent worked hard all day with fine contributions by the Freund boys and Jonathon Frost. Honai Morell was a constant driving force from the centre of the ground. Grant Elson played a valuable roving commission alternating between the forward and back lines for most of the day. Temoso contributed all day, running in the ruck.

Congratulations go to the forward line players and the on ball players who kicked a respectable score in terms of the goals/points ratio.

The only criticism of our performance was our inability to stop the Roos running the ball out of their back line. Something we will remedy before we play them again.
