Tight competition in TAFL as semi-finals creep up

With the Tamworth Australian Football League semi-finals just around the corner and with the Bulldogs having a mathematical chance of sneaking into fifth spot this week’s final round could change the finishing order of the final five. The Inverell Saints have the bye this weekend and have finished the season as minor premiers for the first time in the club’s short history.
In the match of the round Muswellbrook Cats travel to Gunnedah to take on the fast finishing Bulldogs in a game that could see the Bulldogs sneak into fifth spot with a big win.
The Cats will be keen for a good away game performance this weekend and the Bulldogs are always hard to beat at home.
The Nomads really put it to the undefeated Inverell Saints last weekend with the Saints having to come from behind to post the victory.
The Nomads like the Cats are seasoned finals performers and will be looking for a big game against the Roos this weekend.
The Roos have put in a tremendous second half of the season and with a number of their experienced players returning to the side and the experience mixed with the strong young talent that the club has fostered this year they are expected to be strong contenders come finals time.
In the other match the Narrabri Eagles take on the Tamworth Swans in a game which could also have a bearing on the finals.
