Could this be the year of the Nomads? The Bellevue-based club has enjoyed a meteoric rise to first place in the TAFL ladder after a relatively disappointing 2005.

Adrian Walsh’s men not only show great team spirit in tight situations, such as in their last-chance win in Inverell, but also seem to be improving as individual players game by game.

John Mahy has been one player to grow into his role this year, and the experience gained by perennial star Tom Hunt along with valuable players Richard Malone, Weston Whitby and Mahy when they played for the region on the weekend should add to the Nomad’s chances.
