Nomads Women lost to the Tamworth Swans 12.5.77 to 1.1. The game was called off at three quarter time due to a number of injuries. The goal scorer was Molly Soencer, Best players were Lucy Petrie, Lily Macpherson, Phoebe Hewetson, Isabella Pallot, Ukaipo Mann, Zoe McDowell. Despite the score, the skills by our women are impressive – and improving markedly – and it is just wonderful to have a team on the park again.

Women’s Coach’s Report
What a fantastic turnout in Tamworth with a strong squad of 11 ladies making the trip to take on the Swannies. Led by our captain Molly Spencer, the team ran out onto the field on what turned out for be a beautiful day for footy.

Whole the result didn’t fall our way, the opportunity to share teammates with the Swans provided valuable insights into their skills and experience—something our newer players really appreciated and learned a lot from.

This game also marked a debut for our new guernseys, with the ladies proudly sporting a vibrant pink strip. It brought a great energy to the day and helped the Nomads stand out on the field.

In the forward line, Bella Pallot, Kai Mann and Zoet McDonald worked brilliantly together to deliver the ball to Molly Spencer, who slotted one through the big sticks to get us one the scoreboard.

It was a tough contest, but the spirit and joy among the players—both during and after the game—remind us what it’s all about.

Seeing the team enjoying a full-field march is always a thrill. Early on, our efforts to build a defensive wall – a strategy we’ve been honing at training – really showed, successfully slowing the Swans’ forward momentum.

A few standout performances this week came from:
Lucy Petrie Lily McPherson and Phoebe Hewetson.
These three absolutely blazed through the game, showing off exceptional form and work rate.

A big shout out to the Tamworth Swans for rtheir generosity in sharing players so that everyone had a chance to take the field. The atmosphere of camaraderie and shared love of fotty continues to make these games so special.
