Nomads men lose to a fitter Swans side but Fraser kicks 7

The New England Nomads have lost the third game of the year to a much fitter Swans’ side, despite 7 goals from small-tall Fraser Menzies. The team was outrun on a hot day at Riverside Oval. Best players for the Nomads were Fraser Menzies, Charlie Paine, Noah Connick and Tom Hunt. Final scores were 15.19.109 to 10.11.71.

It was a very warm day in Tamworth and the team were without coach Barker.dot.com as well as the Quaife boys, Eric D’Gluyas and X-Man Walsh (the latter two being out with the dreaded non-Covid flu). The Swans were quick out of the boxes and the Nomads were lucky the Swans’ kicking was astray or the damage could have been much worse. Scores at teh end of the first quarter were 5.7.37 to 3.0.18.

The second quarter started with more hope but the swans ran us ragged through the midfield and seemed to have three players at every contest where we had 1. The scores at half-time were 8.13 to 5.2.32

The third quarter saw more of the same. The only forward kicking goals was Fraser. At three quarter time the scores were11.1581 to 8.7.55 and we were still in the game.

Unfortunately, we didn’t kick on and the Swans ran away with it.
