Nomads beat Roos in close battle
The New England Nomads have retained their spot at the top of the table with a close fought victory over the Tamworth Roos. Scores were tight throughout the whole match and at one point in the last quarter it looked as if the Roos would over-run the Nomads. However, the Nomads defence held tight and the Nomads won by ten points. Jed Ellis Cluff kicked 6 goals and Zac Economou 4, while ruckman James Treweeke was players’ player.
Spirits after the game were dampened, however, by news of the serious injury to Isaac Mestrom-Jones who underwent surgery immediately after the match for an injured kidney. We wish Isaac all the best in his recovery. Isaac, our thoughts are with you.
