Nomads overcome under-strength Swans
The news that the Tamworth Swans could only field 16 players was a disappointment to all.
The first quarter saw the Nomads produce some excellent forward moves, resulting in 7 goals to nil at the first change. The second and third quarters were dour affairs, with the Nomads kicking to the flanks instead of employing more direct play.
Omphile Temoso was winning the hit outs with Honai Morell taking full advantage. Jeb Ellis-Cluff was dominating play with Simon Stubbs and James Boatfield always potential goal scorers.
The final quarter was a good one for the Nomads when they played more direct football and started to use offensive handball to advantage. Jonathon Frost initiated some excellent forward moves and brought players into the game with handball and accurate foot passing. Playing at centre half back, Tom Granleese demonstrated how to turn offensive attack with aggressive running out of the back line. Whether he was playing up forward or on the back line, Adam Parish contributed well.
Credit goes to the Tamworth Swans, who battled hard all day.
Final scores…127 to 21.
The Nomads know that they will need to lift their intensity if they are to overcome Inverell at Inverell next weekend.
