Nomads no match for Kangaroos

The New England Nomads will have to wait another week to book their grand final berth after being beaten by 58 points in the Essential Energy preliminary final against Tamworth Kangaroos.
The 18.20.128 to 11.4.70 loss in Tamworth on means the Kangaroos will host the grand final in two weeks, while the Nomads must face Inverell in Armidale on Saturday. The winner of that match will face Tamworth in the decider. The Nomads were given a harsh reality lesson by the minor premier after trailing by as much as 60 points at three quarter time.
The Nomads were never in the contest with the result ensuring a tough week at training ahead of the match against Inverell.
The Nomads started slowly and were behind 4.5.29 to 0.1 at the end of the first term.
Tamworth piled on six goals in the second quarter to build on their lead. While New England kicked five of their own in that term, they went into the main break down by six goals 10.8.68 to 5.2.32.
The Kangaroos continued to confirm their premiership favouritism in the third term as they kicked another five goals to two to ensure a comfortable lead heading into the final quarter 15.15.105 to 7.3.45.
