Two of the grounds having closed, the Country Energy TAFL executive took the decision to cancel round 16 entirely. Heavy rainfall lead to Tamworth No.1 Oval and Inverell’s Varley Oval being declared unusable by the respective councils. The executive then took the decision to cancel the Muswellbrook versus Gunnedah fixture.

This is the second rain-affected round in the 2010 competition, two fixtures from round 9 having been postponed. While those fixtures now constitute round 18, round 16’s matches will not be played at a later date.
