Nomads set to rest for the weekend

From the Armidale Express, 17/07/2009.
The planned TAFL representative match was cancelled due to low numbers on the opposing teams, but Nomads club president Ben Page said that this would give the team a much-needed rest.

“We’re not planning to do anything this weekend,” Page said.

“we’ve had tough games for the past couple of weeks, and most of our players are worn out with a few niggling injuries.

“We think a week’s rest will give everyone a chance to recover.”

Page said the team was hoping to see the return of Hamish Pearce, who had sustained a knee injury, after this week’s break.

“We’re hoping he’ll be fully fit to play when we return,” he said.

“We are getting ready for a tough few weeks – we need a string of wins, so we’ll be hitting the paddock pretty hard from now on.”

The Nomads will return to play the Tamworth Swans in Tamworth on July 25.
