McGrath joins elite club
Dave MacLellan
This weekend, assuming Muswellbrook arrive in Tamworth with enough players, Dylan McGrath will amble onto the field for his 50th game for the New England Nomads in the Tamworth AFL competition. Dylan will join a group of club legends featuring Jonathon Sergeant, Dion Brooks, Gus McKenzie, Ben Horne, Ben Page and Adrian Walsh. These players have all given significantly to the Nomads both on and off the field and Dylan is no different, he was Vice Captain in 2007, Vice President 2007-8 and this season has also been Assistant Coach.
Dylan arrived as a fit young man to the Nomads in 2004 and was part of that year’s premiership winning side. In 2005 he was a member of the University of New England AFL side that travelled to Brisbane for the Australian University Games. Late in 2005 Dylan suffered personal difficulties when he became addicted to Kentucky Fried Chicken, but it was nothing that a self-exclusion policy could not repair and in 2006 Dylan was selected to play for the University again at the Northern University Games, before playing in the TAFL Grand Final in his number 9 Guernsey.
Congratulations to Dylan (Ooh Aah) on achieving this milestone.

Just to add to the milestones from the weekend, Adrian Walsh played his 75th game for the Nomads. He joins Jonathon Sargeant (103 games) and Ben Page who played his 75th in his most recent start. While the Nomads do not celebrate 75th games, it is an honorable effort none the less. So congrats to Pagey and Walshy.
