Round 12: Looks familiar
A familiar feel to this week’s match – one very poor quarter (the second this week) decided the game and despite a good effort in the other quarters the match finished 18.17 (125) to 8.12 (60) in favour of Inverell.
New England were beset by their usual problems; manning up, movement and some basic skill failures – all things that could be addressed with better attendance at training and a consistent line-up. They were up against a good side however, the Saints were strong, mobile and moved the ball quickly creating problems for the Nomads throughout.
The usual suspects put in good performances for the Nomads and the match-day awards went to: Josh Keogh and Anthony Reid (a tie for Players’ Player), Lahl Jenkins (Coach’s) and Sol Hanks (President’s).
The Nomads goalkickers were: Weston Whitby (4), Anthony Reid, Tyrone Dimer, Reece Whitby and Ben Page.
