Looking for a win on the day of their tenth anniversary celebration, the Nomads put in a solid performance and came out with a 17.12 (114) to 12.4 (76) victory. The Swans only period of dominance came at the start of the third quarter when they kicked three quick goals, but the Nomads recovered from this blip to regain the six to seven goal margin they had built up in the first half.
Goal scorers for the Nomads were Weston Whitby (8), Rich Malone (3), Adrian Walsh (2), Ben Page, Josh Keogh, Jay Wright and Kenny Clayton.
The match-day awards went to Weston Whitby (Players’ Player), Dave MacLellan (Coach’s), Josh Keogh (Captain’s) and Johnathon Frost (President’s).
In the evening, the Nomads’ Ball was a great success. The Sydney Swans’ Jesse White and Heath Grundy made presentations to two of the club stalwarts, Brendan Nolan receiving the number 1 jersey and Ron Crump becoming the inaugural life member of the Nomads. Ron Crump is known to be ‘dead chuffed’.
