The New England Nomads have made it three wins in a row after taking the points against Gunnedah at Bellevue on Saturday.
The Armidale side came away victors by 14-12-96 to 11-6-72.
The victory sees the Nomads continue their momentum heading into the final two rounds of the regular season and consolidate third place on the Tamworth Australian Football League ladder, behind Inverell and Muswellbrook.
Glen Northway was the top goal scorer for the Nomads against the Dogs on Sunday, booting four six-pointers over the course of the match.
Richard Malone kicked three, while coach Adrian Walsh and Matthew Bouffler both bagged a double.
Other goal scorers for New England were Anthony Reid, Matt Maxwell and Hamish Robertson.
“It was alright, I don’t think we played as well as we could have,” Nomads coach Adrian Walsh said.
“There were a lot of good individual performances but as a team we didn’t gel as well as we could have.”
The Nomads face the TAFL’s toughest challenge next week when they take on the undefeated Inverell Saints at Bellevue on Saturday.
“They’re a very strong side with a lot of ex-rugby league players,” Walsh said.
“If we’re going to win we need to run the ball because we can’t match them physically.”
Gunnedah will be at home to the Narrabri Eagles, fresh from a week off after the bye.
