Nomads prepare to play Saints under lights
From the Armidale Express, 04/05/2007
Round four of the Tamworth Australian Football League (TAFL) sees the clash of the season so far between the two undefeated teams the New England Nomads and the Inverell Saints.
The game will be played under lights at Varley Oval tomorrow with the game to kick off at 5.30pm.
The Nomads and the Saints have been in tremendous form this year and have put daylight between themselves and the rest of the competition.
These two clubs last clashed under lights last year in a match which ended in a controversial four point win to the Nomads in front of a huge home crowd.
Both teams are expected to be at full strength with the Saints captain Jason Gobbert returning from injury and last seasons captain Fraser Hughes expected to play his first game of the year.
The game is expected to be a high scoring affair with both teams capable of posting big scores.
In other matches this weekend, the Tamworth Kangaroos travel to Muswellbrook to take on the Cats.
The Cats were impressive in the second half of their clash with the Tamworth Swans and should be too strong for the Roos.
The Roos put in a gallant second half against the Saints last week but will need a major turn around in form if they are to defeat the Cats.
In the local derby in Narrabri the Eagles are at home to the Gunnedah Bulldogs. Both sides will be desperate to record their first win of the season.
