Round six a season definer for Aussie Rules

By Peter Diskon (Armidale Express, 02/06/2006)
Round six of the Tamworth AFL this weekend could be a defining one for a number of clubs in season 2006.

The match of the round in Tamworth has the Kangaroos and the Swans going head to head in a local derby with the clubs having plenty to play for.

The Kangaroos will be looking to bounce back after their loss to the Nomads last week and the Swans should be fresh after the bye last week.

In the other important match this weekend the Inverell Saints are at home to the premiers the Muswellbrook Cats in a game that is bound to be willing after the Saints loss to the Cats by four points in last years elimination final.

These two clubs are evenly matched and they both had big wins last weekend so a free flowing high scoring game should be the order of the day.

The prize at the end of this match will be a spot in the top four.

In the third match the Narrabri Eagles are at home to the improving Nomads.

This is a danger game for the Armidale side.

The Eagles are always hard to beat at home and this too should be a close encounter.

Disko’s tips for round six: the Kangaroos, the Saints, the Nomads.
