Last chance to register for popular Auskick
From the Armidale Independent, 03/05/2006
Armidale Auskick got off to a great start last Saturday with about 24 boys and girls engaging with ball-handling and goalkicking drills before playing a game under modified rules.
Numbers are expected to swell further this Saturday with children returning from school holidays. Auskick is a great way for 5 to 12 year olds to learn the skills of Australian Rules football with the focus on fun, safety and skill development. Armidale will also be fielding a team for an Auskick game to be played at the half-time break of the AFL night match between the Sydney Swans and St Kilda at the SCG on Saturday, June 10.
Registrations must be finalised by 5pm on Saturday, May 13 and will be taken in person from 1.45am on the next two Saturdays at Bellevue Oval (UNE), just prior to the start of the clinics at 12 noon.
For a $65 registration fee, children receive an Auskick back-pack containing a Sherrin football, drink bottle, bucket hat, wallet with NAB $10 voucher, parents’ guide, insurance, poster, DVD and more. In addition, New England Nomads junior football jumpers will be given away for as long as stocks last. For further details, contact Craig Collins on 6772 4872.
