Nomads need to win

From the Armidale Express Extra’s ‘On ya, sport’, 26/07/2006
The New England Nomads need to lift their game for the final two rounds of the Tamworth Australian Football League.

At the moment they’re clinging to the fourth rung of the TAFL ladder by the skin of their teeth.

They’re sitting on 22 points, two poitns behind the third placed Roos and in front of the Cats purely based on percentages.

The last two teams the Nomads will face before the finals will be the Narrabri Eagles and the Gunnedah Bulldogs – the competition cellar-dwellers.

Both games are must wins for New England.

Hopefully they don’t suffer last year’s fate and get shunted from the finals in the last round.
