SCG Auskick Thrill

Eleven intrepid junior Nomads ventured down to the SCG on 10 June to represent Armidale in an Auskick match played at half-time of the AFL game between the Sydney Swans and St Kilda. Armidale took on a team from South-West Rocks in a high-scoring affair. The team combined brilliantly and displayed great ball skills in the driving rain and slippery conditions, before forming a guard of honour for the Sydney Swans as the AFL premiers ran onto the ground after the half-time break. The main game was also a thriller, with the Sydney Swans going down by just 2 points.
