Golden child stars for Country

From the Armidale Express Extra’s ‘On ya, sport’, 24/05/2006
The Nomads’ golden child, Tom Hunt, has been at it again, but he’s not the only Nomad hitting the top.

Hunt was once again at his blinding best in the City v Country Tamworth Aussie Rules (TAFL) match up.

But despite his best efforts Country went down 135-122 against City.

Coutnry was made up of players from the Nomads, Inverell, Muswellbrook and Narrabri, while City put together the best both Tamworth teams and Gunnedah had to offer.

Hunt, John Mahy, Richard Malone and Weston Whitby were all selected as part of the TAFL squad to play in the inter-league carnival pencilled in at Inverell over the June long weekend.
