The Nomads finished as runner-up in the National Buildplan Group ‘Tablelands Cup’ for 2006, behind the Tamworth Kangaroos. Both teams having won three games and lost one, the Roos came out on top on for-and-against.
The jumper presentation was a great success. Thirty-six players and a number of partners and supporters attended the function held at the Wicklow Hotel on March 30. Pictures of each of the players with their jumper for the season are in the gallery.
Unfortunately Inverell are unable to field a team at the TAFL Pre-season Tournament to be held in Gunnedah on Saturday, April 8. From the Armidale Independent, 05/04/2006 The New England Nomads have done themselves no harm in their build-up to the 2006 TAFL season beginning on April 22, falling just short of claiming the Northern Tablelands Cup on Saturday.
